Local MP visits Renewables Connect team

Renewables Connect were delighted to host Grimsby and Cleethorpes MP, Melanie Onn, at their Laceby Manor headquarters in North East Lincolnshire, to showcase their unique “Introduction to Renewables” education programme, which launches this week.
Created by the joint venture company, a collaboration between Norwich-based clean energy consultancy Opergy Group and international education consultancy McKinnon Burnett Associates, over the past 18 months, the 15-module access-to-industry learning experience left the former renewables industry professional “astounded”.
The former Deputy Chief Executive of Renewable UK, who left the clean energy industry role prior to returning to Parliament in July last year, was given a tour of the programme’s website and Microsoft SharePoint Learning Management System, by founders, technical staff and the marketing team and was highly impressed by what she saw.
“Introduction to Renewables” is a global, three part course, designed to enhance student career opportunities in the industry. It is also designed to aid transitioning in-sector and non-sector professionals looking to join clean energy pathways.
Melanie, who has pledged to help promote the new programme to government and industry contacts, was joined by (left-to-right) directors Martin Dronfield, from the company’s Norwich headquarters, Andrew McKinnon and Roger Burnett.
